Emma Bunn

Emma grew up in Cornwall and began playing the cornet aged seven. She progressed onto the trumpet aged sixteen and gained the DipABRSM and subsequently a full scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music with Robert Farley, Mark David and James Watson. 

She graduated with a first-class honours BMus, LRAM with Distinction and completed the Leverhulme Orchestral Fellowship in her final year. She was awarded a scholarship to continue her studies to Masters level at Guildhall School of Music and Drama from which she graduated in 2008. 

During her studies Emma was principal trumpet with both the Royal Academy of Music and Guildhall Symphony orchestras and Guildhall Baroque Orchestra. She has gone on to perform with the Royal Opera House Stage Band, Orchestra of St-Martin-in-the-Fields, Southbank Sinfonia, and side-by-side with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonia Orchestra. Emma has performed the Haydn, Hummel and Arutiunian Trumpet concertos with various orchestras around the UK including the Aurelian Ensemble.  On the modern trumpet she has been directed by various distinguished conductors such as Sir Colin Davies, Sir Mark Elder and Yan Pascal Tortelier, and on the natural trumpet includes Trevor Pinnock and William Christie.

Emma is now based in Shrewsbury working as a freelance trumpeter.
