David Hopkin

David grew up near Manchester and studied at Chetham’s School of Music before moving down to London to study at Trinity College and the Royal Academy of Music. 

Since graduating he has enjoyed a varied career as a trumpet player. He has played on many shows in the West End whilst keeping up his busy freelance career, playing with artists such as Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Pete Tong, Frankie Valli, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Muse and Cliff Richard to name but a few. He has also been invited to play with the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Contemporary Orchestra and the Syd Lawrence Orchestra. He has worked extensively in the studio for TV and film and is proud to be a founding member of the Old Dirty Brasstards. 

David currently holds the Trumpet chair on “Cabaret” at the Kit Kat Club, London.
